This summer has been a summer of transitions for Reddy Chiropractic. As we work to be flexible through change, we know we have given our patients plenty of opportunities to practice this recently, too– Thank you.

This location is just 2 doors to the right of where Dr. Reddy has been practicing since the middle of summer. Reddy Chiropractic is leading the move to the new office, but Waukesha Community Acupuncture and Massage (WCAM) will join him soon.
The new office is on the 2nd floor and the building has an elevator! Free 2 hour parking is available on the street or there is also a parking lot in the back, accessible by the driveway on the right hand side of the building.

The blizzard that swept across Wisconsin brought six feet tall snow drifts– and hours upon hours of shoveling!
This snowfall had a mix of lighter wind-blown snow with a thick layer of wet and heavy snow on the bottom, the kind of snow that can make it extra tough on your back, especially if you find yourself doing all of the shoveling solo!
We found the following tips from the Association of New Jersey Chiropractors on the Basking Ridge Patch website about staying healthy while shoveling:
- Be prepared. Maintain your exercise program year-round.
- Listen to weather forecasts so you can rise early and have time to shovel before work; rushing the job can lead to injury.
- Wear layers of clothing to keep your muscles warm and flexible.
- Do some stretching before you grab the shovel.
- For big jobs use a motorized snow blower. If you shovel by hand, use a lightweight,
- Ergonomically-designed shovel to reduce back strain.
- When you do shovel, push the snow straight ahead. Don’t try to throw it; walk it to the snowbank. Avoid sudden twisting and turning motions.
- Bend your knees, to lift when shoveling. Let the muscles of your legs and arms do the work, not your back.
- Take frequent rest breaks to take the strain off your muscles. A fatigued body asks for injury.
- Stop if you feel chest pain, or get excessively tired or have shortness of breath. You may require immediate professional care.
- If you feel sore after shoveling, apply an ice bag to the affected area for 20 minutes, then take it off for a couple of hours. Repeat a couple of times each day over the next day or two.

An interview with Michael Reddy, D.C.
Q: What is Chiropractic?
A: Chiropractic is a natural healing art that works with the nervous system and aligning the spine so that the body can function at it’s very best. Chiropractic looks at the cause of disease, rather then just treating the symptoms.
Q: What made you decide to become a chiropractor?
A: I was motivated by the chiropractor that I went to as a child, he helped me with earaches that had caused me a lot of pain for a number of years that the medical field didn’t seem to be able to help back in the late 50s and early 60s. After he helped me with my ear problems– and I had been a sickly child—appendicitis, bloody noses, etc., all of that got better after 3 adjustments. I would see him every 6 weeks for wellness care. I was a lot healthier after that, and whenever I had issues chiropractic care seemed to help it the most. I would ask my chiropractor all of my questions about health in general and he always seemed to have answers, which really intrigued me. I decided to go to Chiropractic school to explore more about natural health.
Q: When did you first go to a chiropractor? Is there ever an age when it’s too late or too early to start visiting a chiropractor?
A: I first went when I was seven years old, and no, there is never an age that is too late to start visiting a chiropractor! I have adjusted babies shortly after their birth, and I have also adjusted patients who were just beginning chiropractic care when they were in their 90s.
Q: What is the best thing about chiropractic?
A: Wellness! Chiropractic is a way to improve and maintain your health on a regular basis, rather than just reacting to a fall down the stairs, physical trauma, etc. Chiropractic is a way to keep your health in mind at all times. Many patients have remarked on experiencing fewer colds, sleeping better at night, and feeling more energetic, as a few examples of the benefits of regular chiropractic and wellness care.
We’re just getting started, but we look forward to growing this website into a helpful resource for people who are considering chiropractic care, or who are just generally interested in questions of natural health and self-care.
